I have to admire Phoebe Snow for sacrificing her career to take care of her child. Her self-titled “Phoebe Snow” LP was one of my most treasured.

Here’s one of my favorites from that album:

Dammit. Dammit. Dammit. Once again I have embarrassed myself (and the grade schools teachers who tried to learn me how to do art (not to mention grammar)).

The “I don’t get it” tag was mine.

* As an aside (and with all due respect (to me of course) and in all fairness (especially to me)), “I don’t get it” was one of the five generic responses that I thought would cover every FA (original comment HERE, reprised by Classic Rotifer HERE).

I don’t like to “I don’t get it.” I know stuff. I want to know more stuff. I don’t like to not know stuff. Now, if I understand the Mysterious Teresa’s explanation, I didn’t get it because I wasn’t supposed to get it because today’s FA is an intentional non sequitur and no connection between the two panels was intended. (Technically it’s not even a non sequitur, it’s really a twofer.)

The larger point is that this is a testament to the basic goodness that is the Mysterious Teresa and an exposition of Her pastoral concerns for Her FA flock. My “I don’t get it” tag alerted Her to the fact that somewhere a troubled soul was trying to wrap his mind around the unwrappable, motivating Her to break an unwritten rule against explanations. My FA friends, THIS is the hallmark of a full service comic strip artist: Reader Mental Quietude First - Artist’s Unwritten Rules Second (take THAT lawgiverbob).

Assuming that the rest of you are, unlike me, sane and mentally well adjusted, I’ll stop here. At least I will sleep better tonight, and I’m sure that will come as relief to everyone.

P.S. Speaking of non sequiturs, here’s one: for the record Matt is only dancing from the waist up - from the waist down he’s running in place.
