I was feeding my dog one of those kibbles with pieces that looked like different meats and veggies. I wondered if they really had different flavors but had no desire to taste them. Brought home my friend’s two little dogs and the expensive food they were accustomed to. Decided to see if they would eat my dog’s cheaper food. Zoe ate it all. Little Freddie picks out one of the shapes and drops them on the floor as he eats all the others. I guess they do have different flavors.
It is important to remember that dogs are predictors. Most predators have a fairly low success rate in the hunt (even the best are less than 50%) so they are genetically predisposed to eat whatever is there, since it may be a while before their next meal.

Yep, that seems about right. Now, if they were testing a cat, probably none of the bowls would have been touched.

In commercials, the “wrong” dog food is covered with engine oil or something unsavory for dogs.
