    One of our mutts is a sock thief. Only my wife’s socks, though. He’s learned that she will give him a treat if he lets go of the sock.

    Lint is fairly sanitary. High (Cotton) temperature reaches about 150° for half an hour or more. It’s also very flammable. I’d collect a load or two from cotton towels for my flint and steel firestarter before backpacking trips.
