    From Wikipedia article “Growing Up”:

“Growin’ Up” is a song by Bruce Springsteen from the album Greetings from Asbury Park, N.J. in 1973.

. . . The lyrics feature a chorus that is progressively modified as the song continues, with the first chorus being “I hid in the clouded wrath of the crowd but when they said ‘Sit down,’ I stood up,” . . . .

I think Greetings from Asbury Park is probably his single most underrated album, and it’s stood the test of time quite nicely.
