It is actually a very interesting idea. There are some researchers who say we have been heel walkers throughout human history. Others claim that we were toe walkers in large part to reduce injury to the heel from rough ground and that it is the lifted shoe heel that caused the difference in walking style. That and hard soles instead of the soft sole footware seen in most of our history.
