Honey is just too good for this world.

So, she quickly alerts Duke to a situation in which her role as whistleblower will be revealed almost immediately. That doesn’t seem very well thought-out.

Think about, it she doesn’t seem surprised at all that Kevin has in turn turned whistleblower on her and, frankly, giving Duke any info whatsoever about the “anonymous caller” was just, well, stupid on Kevin’s part (if not actually against regulations). He and Honey at least exchanged basic pleasantries at the door — in fact, how else would Honey have known what he wanted (and thus been able to apprise Duke of same in Monday’s strip) if he hadn’t told her? at the door? — he must know that she, like the “anonymous caller,” has a Chinese accent.

Oh well. Maybe GBT just plain decided to wrap “Nothing But Orphans” up quick because he’d decided that it wasn’t as good an idea as he’d originally thought it was. “Adding dozens of kids to the cast, what the hell was I thinking?!”;-)

I am somehow expecting Earl to help pull this one out of the fire and save dear old dad’s rear end.

Isn’t Duke usually a much more effective criminal mastermind than he’s been in this arc so far? His heart just doesn’t seem to be in this one. No pun intended.

I wonder how many welfare officials are equipped to make that linguistic distinction. Honey’s heart is in the right place, except for that crazy bit attached permanently to Duke.
