You could try being a “Conservative” that isn’t a complete and total hypocrite…

The state that wants to deregulate everything wants to tell Facebook and Twitter how to run their platforms.
Gov. Greg Abbott, who apparently has nothing else going on, is backing a proposed law in his state that would prohibit companies like Twitter, YouTube, and Facebook from banning users based on their “viewpoint,” specifically religious or political speech, or geographic location within Texas.
The move, which is being replicated in other states, is seen as a state-level broadside against a federal statute that absolves social media companies for responsibility for the content their users post.
Former President Donald Trump pushed for ending Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act before he left office—and got banned from Twitter—in January.

Similar bills have been introduced in more than a dozen states, according to CBS News, but Texas is farther along than most—a similar bill passed the state Senate in 2019 (but later died in the state House), and it’s not only backed by Abbott but also was listed last month as one of the legislative priorities of Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick, who formally presides over the state Senate.
Whatever you do, don’t go Libertarian, the core of right-wing populism. You know what you got, when you have 18,000 Libertarians in one room?…………………….18,000 completely different versions of how government should be run.
I know how Carmen feels. Watching the Republican party succumb to it’s worst instincts, hatred and anger over the last 12-13 years has been so sad. It changed me from a moderate with no party affiliation to a liberal leaning Democrat. My ethical, moral and personal beliefs simply wouldn’t allow me to go down the dark path Republicans were choosing.
For me, as I have matured I have realized that I am not defined by a party, I am defined by what I believe is right. Then in evaluating candidates I look at what their position is with respect to those beliefs.
Dr. Phil’s regular question remains a very good one that we should all be asking ourselves. But we usually don’t because we hate the answer. Much “safer” to stay in one’s own little self-deluding bubble.
I’ve always thought, what a weird system that Americans register for a party to vote. Outside of dictatorships and communist nations, does any other nation on earth operate its elections that way?

Don’t get mad, Carmen. Just get a new political party and you will be back to normal. Door is open. No application necessary.

If you have to “be” something, why can’t you be a person who treats others as you would expect to get treated yourself?
