Wally’s got to have his nighttime rituals…

It’s instinctive…..

I would bet the dog’s reason makes more sense than his.

Just checking for badgers.

Get a “My Pillow” and you won’t have to do that!

Wally is a watch-dog and needs to wind his spring before sleeping, to set his alarm mode

I doubt beating the pillow does much, but fluffing it to even out the filling is worth the effort.

Pounding the pillow is symbolic of pounding MyPillow?

The two things are both instinctual, that’s all.

Or, maybe Wally does it for as long as he does because he “has miles to go before he sleeps”?

Ralph is doing the “Horizontal BOP BOP!”.

It’s instinctual from when the wild dog would beat down a nest in the grass before lying down
