As I said, he’s been in the same grade for 20 years… Once had a student hand in a dynamite paper, I gave her an A. So she passed it on to a friend who handed it in to me the next semester. It did not get an A the second time around.
This is what happens when the students never age….they get stuck with the same teachers each year. Just ask Dexter’s cousin Nate; he’s had the same teachers for over 25 years.
They used that arc in an episode of “Welcome Back, Kotter”. One of the students (Epstein, I think) plagiarized an essay that Mr. Kotter himself turned in 10 years before. I thought that Gabe Kaplan’s (Kotter’s) next line was classic! “I said that I turned that essay in.; I never said I wrote it”! Epstein’s look of recognition was fantastic!
Yes, Dexter. That was like long time ago. You have another explaination besides your first lame one? I gonna see if your parents be entertained by your story when I call them. A fireworks at Dexter house.
True story: In high school, a very long time ago, the teacher handed back someone’s essay and remarked “Your spelling is atrocious.” Two seconds later I broke up laughing hysterically. Everyone looked at me, including the teacher. She wanted to know what was so funny. “How do you spell ‘atrocious’?” I cracked. The whole class erupted in laughter.

Teach him early, or a few years later he might be doing some serious plagiarism… Maybe he’ll be claiming your work as his own.

Golden Oldie:
Teacher: “Your essay, Our Family Dog, is, word for word, the same as your brother’s.”
Kid: “Yes, ma’am. It’s the same dog.”

How is this cheating? If it was his paper than he wasn’t plagiarising and he had already written it. I used the same paper 4 times in college.
