Once worked in a small company where the management preferred to argue about wordsmithing instead of focusing upon problems, and we faced this same thing (drastically falling sales)… management wordsmithed the situation until they convinced themselves that the problem wasn’t so bad… yeah, they were bankrupt by the end of the year…

And yet no one has broken out the marshmallows, chocolate bars and graham crackers.
