Ours keep count of how many days gone and throw up or miss the litter box on purpose for that many days After we get home. Our punishment for leaving them. Of course, the fact that they love their sitter, doesn’t count.
I just figure my cats love it when I go out. That way they can do all the stuff they’re not suppose to do when humans are around, like go up on the counters!
Ha! Love the expressions on the cats faces! They may be thinking-‘Why is she making those high pitched noises?’ ‘Shhhh! Just hold still and maybe she’ll let us get back to our naps!’

I’ve known many cats.
Generally, if you can arrange food to show up semi regularly they might not have even noticed you were gone.

Nah, they’re trying to figure out how to get rid of you again.

Love those expressions in 1 and 2 “What the heck?” and “Who are you, anyway?”

The question marks around the kitties’ heads indicate they hadn’t realized she was gone.
