A cartoonist invented a character who had two heads. The lawyers squelched the cartoon on the grounds that “We don’t want to offend all our two-headed readers!” Hard to keep everybody happy.
Just like how Warner Bros. killed of using Speedy Gonzales. Despite the fact that most latino people loved the character, a committee of while men in suits only THOUGHT that latinos might be offended, without actually checking on it. PC going overboard.
I was writing a fictional series about hacking and computer espionage. In one installment I revealed the bad guys to be al-Qaeda, a then-not-quite-so infamous terrorist group. I was told by the editors to remove that part, as “we don’t want to agitate our Arab readers.” That installment’s publication date? 1 September 2001. PC is misguided most of the time.

Ted Koppel in underwear goes the way of Speedy, who went the way of the Illini Chief…… sigh….

So, the lawyers are saying Ted does not wear women’s underwear? Is that their position? What is their source?
