I thought his books were sub-par.
I thought that book was about “going to grandmother’s house”.
It’s the one “… where the horse knows the way to carry the sleigh …”
Can’t say I got around to reading Hemingway, but I did see the movie To Have and Have Not with Bogart and Bacall and I go to say I liked it.
Sounds more like Stonewall than Ernest: “Let us cross the river and rest under the shade of the trees.”
Oh, funny!
Hey! Hemingway wrote about MY golf game, too?
If it was my golf game, it would have been “Across the trees and into the river”.
Good one!
To putt a long story short.
Too bad Mr Burns barely touched on Hemingway’s mental health issues, otherwise it would have been a decent programme.
You know, I have not read much Hemingway. Maybe I should.
If a “real man” did it, Papa did it. Better.
Tried to read that book since I did like most of his early work. I just could not finish it since it became tedious. I heard that a movie version starring Pierce Brosnan was being made.
