That could mean that the book is boring.

“Something Happened” by Joseph Heller. I tried when it first came out but… nothing happened. A friend who read it around the same time said “OH something happens!” and I try about once a decade but…

I have this thing about books….if it doesn’t grab my interest in the first two chapters…its gone!

Catcher in the rye for me, just couldn’t get through it

I have one of those books, a biography of a historical figure. It’s taken me over ten years just to get half way through. While the person and his story is interesting, the way it’s presented just puts me to sleep.

Reading should be for pleasure. If I start a book and it doesn’t grab me in the first fifty pages, I am on to the next.

War and Peace. In Russian.

That’s me trying to read “War and Peace”.

Some books are just that way. Yet, sometimes, we just keep on trying……

That’s me with “Oliver Twist”. It puts me to sleep within the first two pages every time. I lost it in a move, sadly, so now I no longer have a sure-fire cure for insomnia until I get a new one.
