I have a perfectly round one on the back of my hand and I have no idea where it came from. I think at my age they just randomly appear for the heck of it.
I remember going to my dr. cuz the top of my foot hurt. He had x-rays taken and showed I had broken that top bone. Couldn’t think, at the moment, how I did it. He asked me, “Do you drink?” I remember later I had hit my foot on the bed board.
Yeah! But sometimes I remember saying “Oh, that’s gonna leave a mark!” & that’s all! No recollection of what I’d done, to have uttered that phrase, just remembering that I’d said it! Or, what’s worse, I run into something & keep going, then later on, I realize “ThAt ReAlLy HuRT!!!” cuz now I’m limping with a huge bruise rising before my eyes.
You don’t have to be old to have unexplained bruises, just accident prone. What I find amazing is the bruises I can see that don’t hurt and the bruises I can’t see that do hurt. For all of my 35 years, I have no idea how I get them.
Ever since getting on afib meds, anything i rub against, even gently, leaves a bruise. Most of them I don’t even know about, like Flo. Found one on side of my foot today. Unbelievable!
That’s not an old age thing! I remember when I was a kid, I’d get home after wandering all over creation all day (something kids today don’t get to do), and my mom would spend a good 10 minutes asking me where I got this or that injury, and I never had the faintest idea!
These days, I move so slowly, by comparison anyway, that I can sometimes catch myself collecting cuts and bruises! I feel like a grown-up, and me only 60.

I was on my way home from the tavern just minding my own business when some inconsiderate drunk stepped on my hand.

Unrealistic. Old folks like me could never raise their leg that high!

OK, now let’s compare scars, that should fill up the rest of the day.

I’ve sworn all my life, that if someone stares at me too hard it will raise a bruise.

I have plenty of unknown bruises. However, any on the top of my foot or my toes is thanks to Moxie.
