I haven’t seen a pet yet that hasn’t tried this trick at least once. And who can blame them? It’s dang effective. I want to reach into the screen and give Sophie a few scratches myself now.
Someone must have been at my house when this idea arose. I too can’t walk past my rescue Toby without scratching his head or giving him a belly rub. He also makes a great cuddle pillow…
Our church has a women’s group that meets the same day as another group. I used to take Blazer with me, and he’d sit by the door watching the other bunch come in. If the person didn’t scratch his head, he’d follow them across the room.

You can’t “let a sleeping dog lie” if she’s sleeping in the middle of a pathway.
