In punk fashion, that’s actually a good look.

Dawn Enjo’s all time best haircut in my opinion. It sort of matches the punk / grunge hair cuts popular in the early 1990s.

This strip feels like its supposed to be the first strip on Monday.

Dawn’s become a Peaky Blinder!

Good luck, Dawn, on keeping a toque on throughout the whole day of classes before the teachers ask you to remove it.

Here’s one of the strange occurrences of synchronicity. Over in Peanuts, the character of Peppermint Patty is also having trouble with how her hair looks! (Even thought the original publication dates are 2 decades apart.)

It’s not about how your hair is cut, but about how you wear it.

A memory: My sister’s husband had to be away for about a month. She decided to get her regular haircut, but purposely had it cut “too short” so that it would be the perfect length when he got home. She figured that no one would see her before then so it’d be OK. Unfortunately, soon after her haircut, my younger brother died & she came home for the funeral…and was asked to do a reading! So, there she was, in front of EVERYBODY, with her “too short” hair! It was a funny (she laughed, too), bright spot in an otherwise dark period in our lives.

Lynn’s Comments:

I drew this haircut before the style was really popular. Today you wouldn’t think twice about someone with a haircut like this, but at the time it was quite drastic.

A common cut among many around here..but I know the feeling.

She’s the girl that smokes too, right? Her cigarette breath should keep anyone who cares away and not notice the hair. Strange how now that would not only be okay but bright red or blue or both!!!

In the kid’s mind his hair cut is a disaster.

I prefer my hair the way it is thank you.

These are the early days of this type of cut. It’s all Dawn’s fault that it became popular!

I wondered why Dawn was not seen in this strip, now it makes sense. She joined the Marines and just graduated from boot camp.

Oh well… Hair grows back.

Guess they do not know about doo rags in that part of the country!

Ha, I gave myself that haircut last year, during the worst of the pandemic, because it was easy to maintain. And I’m in my 60’s.

She’s gonna have to miss school for several months…

Yep, it’s THAT bad. With what girls do to their hair these days, I can’t believe any of them have the nerve to bi**h about mullet hair cuts.

You’ll start a trend. If you don’t believe me…kids are like sheep. When I was in junior high, I wore candy decor shapes on my face (get moist, apply, it sticks) and guess what, all the other girls started wearing them! It was kind of funny. Sheep…

I wonder what Dawn’s parents think of it?

Elizabeth would see who answered the door and say “Why hello Brian. Would you please tell Dawn to get moving, she is going to be late for school!”

Two words: Home schooling.

An Asian kid not wanting to go to school is like a German not wanting to go to Oktoberfest!

GAH! Dawn looks like ME post brain surgery in 1983 . I was in 8th grade & had to have a shunt AKA tube put in on the right side of my head (I have water on the brain). So the right side of my head was shaved .

Remember, this is a “family funny strip”, so we need some more family oriented jokes. Tomorrow’s strip could be like this:

Keith Enjo: “Come on Dawn, you are supposed to be getting to school, not loitering by the door! What is up with the doodle, dawdle, and delay?”

Dawn: “I am avoiding school. I got my hair cut last night.”
