In San Diego, a predominately Hispanic school played a rich White high school in basketball. There were words exchanged during and after the game. At one point kids from the White High School threw tortillas on to the court. Huge outcry, the coach was fired, the school lost its regional championship. Then the push back and denial began. Throwing tortillas was supposed to be a “Celebration, not a racist action.” On and on.
