That was the year Colonel Sanders started giving his chickens saline injections to make them plump and juicy. (as an aside: it took me half an hour trying to spell Colonel with an ‘r’. Why is that?)
I do believe he could make a seven-part miniseries about one of the most tragic, prolonged and boring misfortunes of America. However, as parts of the country experience warmer climate, look for a “dust bowl” coming to your area. Places like California’s Central Valley where most of the original windbreaks have been cut down in the interest of mega-farming will suffer the worst.
I watched that documentary, but it took me weeks to get through it as I could only watch a bit of it at a time. He’s the only documentary filmmaker that makes it interesting enough to want to keep watching but boring enough to make you take days-long breaks between viewings!
How could he hold his phone up long enough to watch it? I don’t get using something that small to watch a show on. Big screen Tv’s cost less than most phones now. Even watching something on my 32 inch computer monitor can be unpleasant at times.

If Ken Burns can’t put you to sleep, you need some heavy medication.

Actually, most of those chickens joined up with the Okies and migrated to California.

I had to read Steinbeck’s “The Grapes of Wrath” in school. That’s all I care to know about the Dust Bowl.

Maybe I’m in a minority; I don’t care. But not even super-severe insomnia could drive me to watch a Ken Burns so-called documentary! Grrr….
