@Number Three Today’s strip IS funny , our HERO Mr Andrew Capp is never going to give up boozing unless his pal Chalkie runs out of cash :o) my avatar again is a picture of my birth sign Leo roaring his head off because he’s happy , how was your day? our MANIC MONDAY should be busy but we will cope I hope , we are both in a good mood but there is shopping to be done but no more errands to run just stay in the house keep hydrated and wait till this afternoon when the greengrocer van comes up our street, keep safe and thanks for caring young Lady.
I’ve met a lot of people like Andy. A study showed that people who have to be hospitalized because of the negative health effects of their alcoholism typically have an average life expectancy of 47 to 53 years for men and 50 to 58 years for women. Sad that some youth start drinking now at 10 or 11 years old and have drinking problems by age 16. Parents be alert – to self and those around you. Andy is just a cartoon character but fits many in real life. Men and Women and now young children. Enjoy but don’t employ.
That reminds me, long ago, of a shipmate in my division who said he was “going to giving up cigarettes”. What he didn’t explain was that he was giving up buying cigarettes! He still bummed smokes.

Andy is ale-ing for a drink. And if he doesn’t get one he will be rather bitter.

I wonder why Chalkie buys Andy’s stories?

That’s how most people used to start to quit smoking. ‘Hey can I bum one from you?’ That was when they were .50/pack though.

Andy and Inspector Morse have the whole never buying a round thing down pat. It’s always Chalkie or Sergeant Lewis’ round.

Chalkie should say “Yes,” down his drink, hold out his glass to Jack and say “Give me a refill,” then slowly enjoy it as Andy watches.
