    I MUST ask…is having a sibling REALLY that hard-especially a younger one?

And the “Current Patterson Administration” leaks to the public some miniscule amount of information about undefined future plans. Thus, calming potential public unrest.

In this case with high structure engineer, contractor, and building costs, I think the “Cost of Compromise” is going to be far more expensive.

War? That’s a lot harsher than the way Elizabeth is actually reacting. They should have just put April’s crib in the living room in the first place.

Did they actually do this? Add a room to their house, I mean? I don’t recall it the first time around.

They should put April in the smaller room, why kick Elizabeth out of her bigger room? This is how sibling wars start!

    Liz sure is growing fast.

She’s as tall as her mother.

When we looked into adding another bed and bath to our $25,000 starter home in the ’80s the estimate was just shy of $35,000.

A more sensible way of looking at it is that the older kids will be moving out on their own in just a few years, but that will drag out for many years if the family home life is too easy. The situation does not require compromise or war, just patience and developing marketable skills. Those are valuable things for all teens to learn.

I remember this arc, but I also remember saying it’s easier to move to a 4-bedroom/2.5-bathroom home (one bathroom ensuite, one for the kids to share, and a half-bathroom for guests). I still stand by this.

What about the cost of compromise versus the cost of appeasement? And where do you draw the line?

Parents are either very stupid or very rich.Have her share a room with her brother. One weekend with a teenage boy, she will run back to her baby sister!

In my family, an addition to the side of the house means a little trailer aunt whoever doesn’t need anymore now that she’s not “snow birding” to Yuma every winter.

Childproof the drawers and add doors that latch securely to the bookshelf. It will be cheaper and faster than an addition.

Cost of Compromise is less than cost of war. When the world’s countries understand that passage?

War’s should always be the last and last and once more last think we should resort too. Most can be resolved, it not destroy the opponents economy first, then let him go to war.

I must have been a real monster. My room was at one end of the house. ?The room shared by my 2 older brothers was at the other end of the house on the other side of the mud room. No one wanted me bugging my brothers,

It reminds me of a Ramona Quimby book in which she and Beezus had their usual sibling rivalry and their parents decided to hire a contractor so that Ramona would get her own room. (RIP Beverly Cleary.)

I could just see my parents doing that for me…I shared a room with my brother until I moved out. When you have a 2 bedroom house, that’s how you do it. People down the street from us had kids sleeping in the dining room, because there were 4 kids and 2 bedrooms.
