I believe this is relatively common in Europe, but I cannot remember ever seeing it in the U.S.

Who knows what the two could have in common, appearances don’t always tell the real story .

Any person who loved his/her cat enough to share his dinner would be a worthwhile person to share a table with. :)

I’ve had it happen a couple of times. One person just sat and ate with no conversation. Another turned out to have – at least according to him – a very interesting life and was a great conversationalist. I enjoyed both those times very much. Believe it OR NOT, I would welcome it again as you never know and every person has a story. js

I’m not surprised that the hobo needs a seat, but that the CAT isn’t struggling to escape.

Is he going to pay for my meal? Do I have to pay for his?

We’ll need another chair. Who is that cat anyway?

I’ll be happy to share the table with the cat. It would make me feel right at home.

The bindlestiff can sit somewhere else.

Common on some cruise lines but tends to freak out some Americans especially women.

I have never seen anyone look like this cat guy on a ship. Well, at least not as a passenger.

Sometimes you just don’t want to sit with strangers when you eat. That is one thing I do not like on Amtrak, being forced to do that.

I just (?!?) noticed the table is way too small, yet it DOES have a second chair on the other side.
