My step-mother had a Siamese cat. When he would get on the kitchen counter my step-sister would take him off and spank him. In the wee hours of morning he would come to her bedroom door and give a “poor kitty” meow. When she would get up to get him she would step in his “trap”.
I now understand why women are often compared to cats. I had a girlfriend who was like this, only she did get mad and did seek revenge, sometimes after attacking you, too.
I disagree. I don’t exactly punish but a mild spank or hiss AT THE TIME ONLY. At any other time, they don’t make the association and think you’re just being mean. And become afraid of you.

If you want to get on the good side of women, never piss them off, or upset them, ’cause they will hold a grudge against us forever, pets included.

My cat is wonderful; she never chews on anything which she should not. The dog, however…

Cats bear grudges. They’re… well, cats. Be grateful they’re not the size of tigers. They’re the masters at holding grudges.
