After she grew up, Red Riding Hood no longer went through the woods and over the river to grandma’s house, and she no longer wore that childish red hood, but every once in a while, as she walked sensibly along the beaten path through the field, she would pause and mourn for the lost days of her youth.
Molly Bloom, lost in thought remembering her last night’s reminiscence. Dinner could wait!

Phyllis couldn’t help but take it personally after having been assigned Scarecrow Duty 277 days in a row – especially in the late fall and winter when there were no crops to protect.

/// Overnight in the farmers’ north field
came a pattern that sunrise revealed.
Many “rings” that were bare
(the crops no longer there),
like a guide to some treasure concealed.
/// People followed the crop circle trail.
(Might it lead to an alien grail?)
They’d gone twice round each ring
without finding a thing,
then stopped short when they heard the cows wail.

Damn, I took the wrong path. This isn’t the way to grandma’s house.

In her right hand an urn.
On her left, fuel to burn

/// “Dinner Time” once again. Ma’s forlorn.
It is hard, at this time, not to mourn
for the terrible price,
their supreme sacrifice—
feeding children to things in the corn.

Has nothing to do with corn.

(He simply insisted)
And both daughters are doing porn.
