Recycling is so stringent at our city yet so many people toss still their litter on the street. Luckily the sidewalk tents keep most of the bottles from breaking. And nearly 1/2 of the needles are actually exchanged.
I remember seeing recycling containers on the streets in Toronto at least 20 years ago, even ones that took soda bottles and cans. I was impressed. Not just trash cans. Now I wonder how much of that actually went on to be recycled. One of my previous neighbors used to stick all her recycling items into a big plastic garbage bag every week and stuff it into the recycling bin for pick up. She continued to do this even after I read out loud to her the directions on the inside of the bin, which included directions not to stick everything in a bag. Her weekly bag would have caused tons of recycling items to turn into basic garbage. That is just from one person’s ignorance.
Germany is even pickier about it. They really do recycle, so everything has to be in the correct containers so they can recycle it. The consumer sorts it, not the recycler.
Entitled Wasteful people. Big Oceans, the Gulf and expensive landfills for disposal. Big streets, highways and byways for littering. Clean and Green is a joke on the people.

I’ve seen these multi-category collection containers in Central and South America but not in the US. Why not?
