Hey what’s this kid’s name with the cool Lisa Simpson style haircut? I’ve never seen him before. Even though the Simp sons has been around for countless decades, I think this even predates that.
Lol I am with Charlie Brown. The line up of the brawny athletes is way more exciting than the likely outcome of Strike Outs and Field Outs of the actual game.
I’m still hoping that the foretelling of the demise of MLB during this century (as mentioned several times on Star Trek Deep Space Nine) will occur. Ditto for NBA & NFL.
They colorize this strip all wrong. That hook-like thing in the front of his head (panel 2) is more than a single hair— he’s got fluffy bangs up front (blonde hair) and his hair crown in back is always drawn. I don’t know why Schultz gave in, allowing CB to be called bald and letting the animators ignore his hair.

To answer the kid’s question: yes (especially when it comes to Joe Shlabotnik)!

How do you take a baseball player lineup out to the umpire?
Neo Stryder over 2 years ago
Seeing his career, Joe needs all the support he can get, even for something like that.

Good to see that old Chuck roots for the leaders, not the players.

If Joe can handle the little things, the big things will take care of themselves.

Can’t be too careful. I’ve read of a manager getting ejected while exchanging lineup cards.

Why is Sandy Koufax on Joe’s lineup card?

I wonder which member of the 1962 Mets was the inspiration for Joe Shlabotnik!

Really bad to think that’s something major to cheer for.

And Joe Shlabotnik trips and does a face plant on his walk toward home plate.

Charlie Brown knows his hero all too well.
