When it’s that hot I will not walk my dog. It’s not good for you and the dog.

It’s been hot enough that even Honey, our sun worshiper, has been staying inside.

I NEVER complained about “oppressive” heat or humidity as a kid. I considered the hot days of the summer the best time of the year – as a matter of fact still do! It was only the OLD FOLKS (wimps!!!) who were always griping about the heat.

Well, at least the kid has a friend besides his sister – even if it is a dog.

My dog is mostly black, so I can’t have her out too long in direct sun or she might overheat as the color absorbs the heat. My last two beagles were mostly white and they loved the hottest part of the day for the walk. It didn’t take me long to figure out the difference. Our longer walks now are dawn and dusk. It’s safer for my skin, too.
