My kid told me he can’t go to sleep until his neighbor comes home because the literally twenty honks will wake him up anyway.

The first thing I do with a new car is disable the horn noise with the remote.

I try to remember to note my parking place when leaving car, but if I forget, I can use the ‘lock’ button honk as an aid when looking for my car.

If you hold the remote close to your head, you can operate it from farther away than if you hold it at waist height. I would suggest that if you are going to test it, do it in an empty parking lot…

During my train commuter days, I would watch a young woman repeat this routine, every single weekday: get out of her bright yellow coupe, open the trunk to retrieve her bag, lock the car via remote (honk), walk to the driver’s side door, test the handle, walk to the trunk and try to lift it, walk to the passenger’s side door, test the handle, walk to the trunk, place her palm down on top of it, walk to the driver’s side door, place her palm on the window, unlock the car via remote (honk, honk), lock the car via remote (honk), then walk to the train station. Every. Single. Day. There was also a man with a similar routine, but no honk, and he just tested the 4 car door handles before coming to the station. People are endlessly fascinating. I have my own quirky routine when leaving home to catch the bus to go to the beer garden in town…

That’s why I Love my Honda, just a little chirp, it doesn’t use the horn.

I like the little toot of the car remote lock (sorry not sorry). But I do agree that it should be a One and Done thing.
