Wouldn’t it be more like Diego Franco? “Diego” is some Hispanic form of the name “James.”
I believe this is a reference to the acting technique of trying to “live” a new role before playing it on the screen. It often involves following “authentic types” and being alternately annoyed at being recognized or not being recognized. :)
For the record, there’s been backlash (from John Leguizamo and others) from Franco being cast as Fidel Castro in an upcoming movie.
