This “Minit Mystery” just isn’t grabbing me…these usually are fun…but this is falling a little flat…I guess once it’s over and the whole two weeks can be read at at once, it might come across a little better.
At least they didn’t die, although I’m sure that will disappoint some readers. I don’t think that Sam’s assessment of the exhibits all being accounted for is reliable. He’s no expert. I hope the three curators get there soon.
I had a feeling the other day that the statue is a fake or could be used as a weapon. It could be that it released a sleeping gas, but for what reason I don’t know yet.
I think they gave it away with the focus on the statue in P2.
It’s actually kind of touching tat someone wold make a gem-encrusted, gold tribute to the cheesy monsters in ATTACK OF THE GIANT LEECHES. Guess Eugene the Jeep was too busy to model that week.
If these guards were gassed, then a certain item must have been swapped out. Who among the three can authenticate? Oh, chances are an expert will be brought in.
If anyone knows anything about the big money theft of boxers Tony Zale and Carmen Basilio’s world championship boxing belts, which were unceremoniously pilfered from the International Boxing Hall of Fame, in Canastota, New York, please contact the FBI, right away. Thank you!
This is still an active case. Leads have been slow and scare to come in…The families of these heroic, but now-deceased pugilists want closure and justice, so if anyone knows anything, please call the FBI.
OT QUESTION (annoyed): Anyone know how Amazon markets? I’m seeing ads for the paperback of the new book in Barnes & Noble and stores in Sweden and a couple of other countries. I’m a little annoyed abut these little surprises as I’d agreed the marketing strictly through Amazon. do they market externally on their own??
I’ve been off the board for a few days attending a memorial celebration for my nephew. Before his recent passing, his wishes were to have no funeral but to have a big party, have good music, and everybody toast him with shots of Jack Daniels. He had been a talent agent with the William Morris Agency and guided the careers of many bands. He was a former president of the Kansas City Blues Society and founded, what is now an annual Battle of the Bands Street Fair in KC. He also developed a program to collect old unused instruments, refurbish them, and give them to elementary school kids who wanted to be in the school band. He had recently retired and bought a farm in a small Ozark town of Tightwad, Missouri. That is where we had this celebration. Blues Musicians came to play. A KC Disk Jockey provided more entertainment between sets of the bands. It was a great time, a great party, and a fitting tribute to my nephew.
Wait a minute – everybody was there, now they are asleep, and the key 3 people are missing? How did they avoid getting gassed – or were they, then kidnapped?
I’d suspect that Joe’s heavy linework looks better at a larger scale than what we see here; but, that said, the panel 3 Tracy is superb, truly iconic! That panel 2 Froyne of Layven (if the genuine Froyne and not a fake) is consciously ugly, probably because in the belief system of its creators it was meant to intimidate (although it does strike me as looking like an R2D2 tripping on LSD).
Given the short time left for this Minit Mystery, I think it will be crucial to see whether all three curators show up, and what condition each is in. One (or more) of them is probably the guilty thief of the purloined (real) Froyne; today’s lottery bet is still on Jett, though no one is as yet excluded by any exculpatory evidence….

Good morning™, carted off coppers !
That is one ugly whatever it is. Panel 3 looks like a music group album cover shot. Love the placement which gives a good view of the four of them.

For a short storyline the build up to whatever the actual mystery or crime is is sure taking a long time.

Tracy obviously thinks that the exhibits have been removed and copies left in their place.

The saying, appearances can be deceiving comes to mind. Especially regarding these exhibits.
