Since this is a physics lecture, what we have here is a demonstration of the effect in quantum mechanics where a particle is “delocalized” – that is, it is not exactly in any one position until it is observed. When we looked at Dr Mel and then back at the crew, their waveforms “collapsed” into different chairs. Much of what happens in the cartoon universe can be explained by quantum effects being much larger there than in ours.
Stephen Hawking noted that if you were being sucked into a black hole, even the difference between the gravitational pull at your feet and at your head would be so different, that it would do this "spaghetti-fication’ effect.
The last guy’s (Ron?) comment would have been better beginning with “Yummm.” “Ummm” is the SFX used in cartoons when people are about to raise an objection.

So that is where the Flying Spaghetti Monster comes from.

Tim seems to be one of the very few cartoonists who actually does research on his topics.

Incongruities: Brewster and Cliff have switched places and there’s a button/snap that is in a different place on Dr. Mel’s collar,

Tim goes from being complimented on his research to bing slammed for continuity errors. Such is the life of a cartoonist.
