The grocery store I used to go to had a nice sloping parking lot. With a cart full of groceries, I could take a couple of steps then ride the cart all the way to my car. Only had a problem when some rude inconsiderate car driver was trying to use my lane to DRIVE HIS CAR through the lot. I know, how rude, right? After I reached age 60, I told myself I was too old to keep doing that. But I still did. Got a lot of double-takes from people. My wife said she enjoyed walking along behind and watching the reactions.

So when a cart rolls into your parked car, it’s just challenging a threat to its territory.
