And in a blizzard it becomes a deathtrap.
All that snow that fell yesterday long seems to have disappeared from the ground. Just a few stragglers seem to be falling today. That must mean it is above freezing so it won’t be long for your igloo to turn into the pool. What maybe 3 or 4 days?

Well, he is at least on the right track. Next to a cave, an earth sheltered house is best. Though he’ll need to change his building material.

There are materials that change shape with temperature, but I don’t know if any change states from solid to liquid

An igloo is best built with a small hole in the center of the dome.
Just don’t start a big fire in there.
It’s like something from The Red Green Show.
Such nicely formed well-fitting ice plates. It is amazing what those molecular fabricators can do for them.
