Lawrence has been a great help when Ellie has been lost knowing not what to do. But there is something that Lawrence can’t do to help. He can’t hold an open garbage bag while Ellie is tying a knot into a second bag. For that she has to call Connie for help. ( I just wonder if Connie will help by carrying out the garbage bags to the curb or will she ask Lawrence to do that?)
I’m not looking forward to this August, when my “baby” leaves for college. Granted, she’s staying in the state, but it’s still a ways away…and she won’t be home. Sometimes I forget that she’ll be leaving soon. I’m still adjusting to my older one being away!
In a way, this is the beginning of the end of the strip: The kids are growing up and out. Strips where the characters don’t age don’t run into this problem.
Oh, did you forget that, Cru-Elly? You don’t even remember screaming at him before the flood for napping after his final!? What will Big Loud Dummy do come fall when she loses her favorite PUNCHING BAG?
I’m still trying to decide whether to give college another go again. Long story short, they (the college) reneged on the decision to grant me financial aid in my first year due to a loophole in the requirements. So, I had to pay for my classes out of my own pocket every year. Then they forced me to take classes that have no bearing on the major I was going for (Computer Information Systems/IT) and it was required. Then when I needed help academically, they told me to “go fly a kite”. In the end, I stuck it out for 3 or 4 years, before dropping out due to lack of money, even though I was working 2 jobs at the same time. That was in 2002/2003.
Does Elly think Michael did poorly in school and will get rejected by every college from here to Timbuktu? Was she surprised that someone actually thought Michael is going to college?

How convenient of Elly to forget her own son’s going to college!!
The only time she pays any attention to him is to flap her yap because he slept late!!

I always thought the term was “University” instead of “College”.

I think this strip is running from start to finish for the second time. When it reaches the end, will Lynn send it out for a third time?
