I read about 5 a week. Sometimes fewer, occasionally more. And if they’re worth remembering (which is not a given) then I remember at least some of each of them, for several years, usually.

Back in 1978, I read “Roots” by Alex Haley. It took me 2 nights. I was 14. Now, reading one chapter of any book knocks me out cold. I have been tested at 1,300 wpm with 90% comprehension. The average adult reads at 250 wpm.

No she won’t. She retains Caulfield as a separate mental file. Something to talk about in the teacher’s lounge, which is rarely if ever seen. Would be a good break from very long one kid one adult run.

    I’m reading about 500 pages a week

The average is about 4 per month but all it takes is a few in the 1,000 page range to mess that up

Move to Florida if you don’t want to read a lot of books.

How many books get assigned in elementary school? It’s college where they give you one a week.

I’ve retained quite a few pulp paperbacks like PKD’s “Eye in the Sky.”

And the liner notes were in big bold print, Caulfield.

Better read fast. With the amount of books being banned by right-wing extremists, there won’t be any left to read.

No she won’t. She never forgets anything Caulfield does.
