While I like this new take on the character Morpheus, I’m not sure if I care for the latest version of the Matrix being based in the late 18th century.
The painter is listed above as “American”, but the year is listed as 1764 – before there was such a nationality. Further research describes him a ‘Anglo-American’, and notes that he moved to London in 1774; before the Revolution.
18th Century Drag Shows and comedy bits were low on whatever quality finally made them popular in the 20th Century. It took Milton Berle and Monty Python to find that quality and make it a success.
