You probably saved Charlotte from high school, Dean. You’re a hero!

You may wish you had, when you get to college and stuff actually gets hard…

I think Charlotte doesn’t want to leave Dean behind.

True. Good decision. And she was only looking for confirmation on what she’d already been thinking.

If I were a parent in this situation, there’s a limit to how much autonomy I’d allow her.

You only get one bite at the apple when it comes developing your potential.

I would offer a choice. She’s sleepwalking through classes right now. Not good. So the choice would be skipping a grade next year or taking a couple of AP courses over the summer.

Is it now up to the student to decide whether to skip a grade? I don’t think that was the case when I was in school. Not that I was in any danger of finding out.

Too bad, Dean; you get to own this decision.
