When I was a kid we visited my grandparents. We went out to the yard to play (probably in the ’40s). The yard was about 100 ft wide. On one side it was raining. On the other side it was not raining (not sunny, but no rain). We ran back and forth and that weather continued for about 5 minutes (or until we tired of the exercise). Only time I ever experienced that sharp a rain cutoff.
I once drove into a big storm, it was weird. I was in the sun and saw water coming down ahead and thought it was a hydrant that had burst. It was a wall of water from a rainstorm just like in this comic but reversed.
When I lived in Michigan the weather forecasts were extremely unreliable – because the weather was always so unpredictable. In fact I used to only HALF joke that I had a greater chance of success planning my days based on an expectation of the OPPOSITE of what the weatherman said. Now that I’ve moved to Arizona, they’re unbelievably accurate. And that’s not a joke. Yes, it’s true that 99 percent of the time you can just say “sunny and hot” and be correct….when they do predict, even days in advance, when we’re going to have one of our rare rainy periods, their degree of accuracy usually astounds me.
My wife’s phone and my phone often have different weather forecasts. And sometimes we notice that the weather right behind the house is different from the weather in front of the house.

Are you kidding me? My app says that it would rain RIGHT NOW and there’s not a cloud in the sky. YES, I have the location correct.

They predicted a thunderstorm for our area yesterday. It missed us.
