Just because it rains, doesn’t mean you can’t eat the sandwiches and have an indoor picnic. I know. I know. Not as good but three of you are together and should be able to come up with some fun.

Car washed, planned a picnic, and have made sandwiches, did you really think it was not going to rain.

On any given day, what is the likelihood of rain in Britain?

My Dad used to blame the rain on Mum cleaning the windows. He would say that whenever she cleaned the windows we had rain. Mum was much keener on clean windows than Dad was.

The golf arc has obviously finished. That’s a shame as it looked like it was about to develop into an interesting story. At least, we can imagine how Fred could have helped Mr Dear.

Maybe he washed the car because he didn’t want to go on a picnic?

Picnic. Because you pick a spot to eat outdoors. And the Universe nicks all the fun out of it….

By washing the car, he ensured that the rain started before he left. If he had not, it would have started just after he got the picnic blanket set up.

Hasn’t rained in Salem, OR since 19 June when we got 7 mm. Long-term forecast says we might get some end of September. 44C yesterday, so watering the garden is a daily thing.

I’ve at times thought of hiring my wife out to plan picnics in drought-stricken regions.

Guarantee it always happens to me, sunny day or not, once I’ve washed my car it usually rains the next day
