Mostly only after drinking soda, beer or the like – and I don’t try to suppress it, but do it discreetly: quietly and behind my hand.

If it happens too often to you without obvious reason, @Tony – watch your diet and consider consulting a cardiologist. Heartburn (likely to accompany burps) is called that for a reason.
