And as long as we’re on the subject of obscure ways of saying common expressions…. If Wallace were to adopt British rhyming slang, his final comment here might be “I really should [be] pickleing.”
Wow, I wrote a comment on this just yesterday. In my mind, I choose to believe that Mr Henry wrote an 11th-hour comic and pressured distributors to release It today. Hurray for me!
Good morning, Snug Harbor! I’m stopping by to let you all know that a NEW Wallace the Brave book comes out Oct. 24 and I’m really excited about this one. It’s titled “THE GREAT PENCIL QUEST” and has a bunch of fun comics and storylines and some neat activities. So, if you like comics, and like books, and like supporting artists, check out this link and preorder a copy of this cool bookTHANKS FOR THE READING THE COMIC!
Both are correct. However, mylar balloons wreak more havock on internal organs of creatures that eat them. Not so sure that tennis shoes do. They might even become homes for little critters….
I’m loving this arc. I can’t help but wonder if it’s a do-over for the day early on when Wallace and Spud tied an action figure to a balloon and let it go to soar across the harbor on a great adventure. At the time there were a lot of comments (since lost to a site update) about how it would eventually become plastic waste in the ocean.

Maybe the wind will blow it onto Neptune’s Trident. A little bit of pre-Holiday decoration.

Good catch, Amelia.

True Amelia, but wouldn’t the pile up of Wallaces shoes – assuming he throws them in the same spot every year – eventually become a reef?
:-))

I remember Mom saying to Wallace, “Tell me you’re not going to throw your old shoes in the bay” and Wallace replying to her, “But then I’d be lying.”

the shoes create structure, the plastic creates havoc on marine ecosystems

The balloon appears to have lost some of its helium. It will soon start to descend.

So, Wallace. plastic balloons are bad for the sea critters, but your toxic waste shoes are o.k. ?

Is she aiming at the balloon or the statue?

At least Wallace’s shoes become a home for some of those sea creatures.

Amelia grows up to become an Avenger, thinks back to the days she tormented Spud and chuckles to herself occasionally
