And as long as we’re on the subject of obscure ways of saying common expressions…. If Wallace were to adopt British rhyming slang, his final comment here might be “I really should [be] pickleing.”

True Amelia, but wouldn’t the pile up of Wallaces shoes – assuming he throws them in the same spot every year – eventually become a reef?

Wow, I wrote a comment on this just yesterday. In my mind, I choose to believe that Mr Henry wrote an 11th-hour comic and pressured distributors to release It today. Hurray for me!

So, Wallace. plastic balloons are bad for the sea critters, but your toxic waste shoes are o.k. ?

Is she aiming at the balloon or the statue?

At least Wallace’s shoes become a home for some of those sea creatures.

Both are correct. However, mylar balloons wreak more havock on internal organs of creatures that eat them. Not so sure that tennis shoes do. They might even become homes for little critters….

I’m loving this arc. I can’t help but wonder if it’s a do-over for the day early on when Wallace and Spud tied an action figure to a balloon and let it go to soar across the harbor on a great adventure. At the time there were a lot of comments (since lost to a site update) about how it would eventually become plastic waste in the ocean.

Amelia has a point. And a slingshot.
