Good news everybody! The boss has figured out a way that everyone can pay less taxes.

So Big Brother cut the chocolate ration in half. Then the following week he raised it by half. Everyone cheered about the increase. Winston wondered if they even remembered that 2 weeks ago it had been more. Was he the only person in possession of a memory?

During slow economic times in the 1980s, our company cut hourly pay 10 percent across the board. Two years later when things got better, the pay cut was “restored” by 10 percent of that lesser amount. Ha ha, we weren’t stupid.

A pay-slip notice telling them that 15% of their salary had to go toward fighting climate change should do the trick.
