and pay the bills

I’m an old woman, and if I spent all my time baking pies, they’d end up in the faces of those I don’t like—like Trout!!

I wonder what old women would say that young girls should spend all their free time doing.

Well I’m an old woman who lives on a farm, I’ve got lots to do but I still squeeze in making a few pies now and again.

You’re thinking of the wrong old woman, Agnes.

I’m an old man (married to an old woman), and since back when we weren’t old (in my case since I was a child; family tradition) we spend a day or two every fall with a couple bushels of Spartan apples, cinnamon, butter, sugar, flour, and Crisco­­, and put 30-40 pies in the freezer for the year (well, we invite Her family over to help, and send some home with them, and some get used when invited somewhere – but we have enough for us, too). Want a pie? Take it out & bake it!

Don’t get there soon enough, on a putt-putt.

We all knew that Grandma sourpuss would not allow Agnes to keep the mini bike. She is just that kind of spoil sport.

I do like the pie part…..
