Because the humans need an excuse to get out of the house and get some exercise. That’s why they pant so much, too.

I pant because I don’t look good in a skirt.
We let our dog set her own pace. A lot of sniffing.
The dogs always look so thrilled to be on their walks. Well almost always. There are definitely some furry grumps.
