Well, for the second day in a row the Masterpiece on Steve’s blog doesn’t match the one here on GoComics. Yesterday mabrndt explained why that happened, and obviously Steve decided to substitute the painting intended to appear on Wednesday for the Throwback Thursday entry he would have posted today. I wrote a series of verses for the above image yesterday and have copied them here. And, as is my practice, a bit earlier I wrote a new limerick commenting on the Throwback image I saw on the blog. Since I like how it turned out and have some ideas for additional verses, I hope Steve will post that same picture here next Thursday. I photographed my poem on my iPad screen so I can retype it later if the opportunity arises. Anyway, in the spirit of Thanksgiving, I am grateful that these petty issues are the kind of “problems” I have to deal with, given the chaos and insanity elsewhere in the world.
I know, Love, that this brownish water and all the dead fish stink to high heaven and make your eyes water , but my factory behind you paid for this dress and your Wight holidays so you should learn to enjoy the scent.
“So picture this- we hire some child to stand by the wall here, and every time someone looks at your painting, we have the kid flip up an advertisement for my flower shop. What do you say?”

Again, a larger strip image is shown by (Ctrl- or right-) clicking the image in Mr. Melcher’s MASTERPIECE #3229 (November 29, 2023) blog entry, accessible by the Check out the blog! box after the last comment, and using the dropdown menu (even larger, if you trim what’s after .jpg from the URL). I have added a comment and reply there pointing to info about this artist I used to point to here. Only work by him used here so far.

Painting religious frescoes in Egypt was the opportunity of a lifetime. Especially if you did a bad job.

It’s tough enough drawing without having a bunch of critics staring over your shoulder the whole time. Even if they’re friendly critics.
