Every society has mythology. It’s their way of explaining this they don’t understand. I always enjoyed Greek mythology. The imagination of humans is limitless.
As a 10th grade rebel I got in a lot of trouble over Greek Mythology. I had an A+ in math, science, electronics and history. I don’t read comic books at home and I’m not reading this for school, I’ll take a zero. I listened in class, I did other classes homework if she gave reading time. I never did Greek Mythology homework and I bough a cliff note book before the final. I got through it sadly with a B. I have successfully forgotten all of AND MORE now at 62. The only few times it would have come in handy was watching Jeopardy. Let take this out of school and add more math and science AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, job skills and trade school classes. Auto shop, welding, carpentry, computer classes, nursing, electrical, plumbing. All these trades need apprentices. Most people don’t go to college and many with degrees wind up in fields not related to their diploma. FYI, I would not want a job that required Greek Mythology. I’m sorry about the rant but going to the principles office still stings a little.
Got to have heard of Athena. As a wine conneseur, most assuredly you heard of the Roman god Bacchus. I’m appalled. Granted, l do teach History. You must have at least heard of the demi-god Hercules. Google it now…..
They could learn together. I miss the days when my daughter would do her homework while I was cooking dinner after work. I enjoyed helping her with her homework while I got our meals ready.

That’ll be the extent of his help! LOL
Maybe a library book or an article on line would help! ☺️

“Achilles, heel” is one of the commands my dog, Achilles, knows!
Brent Rosenthal Premium Member 10 months ago
Good one Brutus. Although a more accurate statement might be that it’s “one of” your Achilles heels – plural!

Though not taught the Greek myths, Brutus knows the meaning behind some of them and in a sense, that’s the most important learning of all.
