Mmmmm, tomato sandwiches. Made with real tomatoes, of course, hopefully to be found during the summer. Tomatoes and salt and Miracle Whip. (before you make aghast comments, I’m allergic to mayo!)
Yummm summer tomatoes, straight from the garden and warm from the sun. On white bread with mayo, or on toasted wheat bread with butter. Any way you eat it, it’s delicious.
A certain British businessman in the ‘60s and possibly into the ’70s, riding the train home from work, would toss his briefcase out the train window at a particular point. He didn’t at first tell his shocked fellow passengers that the train was passing his house at that moment, and the briefcase fell neatly into his back yard, so he didn’t need to carry it home from the station. This fellow – Jack Churchill (no relation to the PM) – also had a previous reputation as the craziest British officer of World War II, who went into battle against the Germans with a longbow and a claymore (broadsword).

Absolutely! You have to think of the really important things first. Lunch and newspaper are important items #1 and #2.

I had a lifetime’s worth of tomato sandwiches when I was a child. Put some B and L on it!
