Valentine’s Day is the one day when nobody should be alone.

Never alone with your thoughts.

With the costs of flowers and the cost and hassle of going out for Valentines I agree with you Will!My late wife and I would make a special dinner at home and avoid the hassle and I’d have flowers delivered a few days before to her workplace as our cats would destroy them and she wouldn’t have as much time to enjoy them.

That’s what we did too, except our dogs would have had a field day with them. I miss those days.

After an absolutely disastrous Mother’s Day restaurant experience, I told the Hubs he was free to designate a time & place to celebrate Mother’s Day or Valentine’s Day & I’d be happy with it. No more going out on the date itself! We’re over 47 years married now & have had a wonderful time celebrating when we wanted, how we wanted & in a lot more peace & quiet than the actual day provides.

My hubby and I ignore all the ads for Valentines day gifts militantly. All those $$ look sooo much better in our wallets than in Hallmarks or the florists.
