This painting takes its title from a ballet written in 1881–1882 by the French composer Edouard Lalo (1823–1892).
The slender storyline of the ballet, set on Corfu, tells of a slave girl passed between two wealthy playboys on the turn of a bet. The Moroccan melodies on which the ballet is based are reflected in the Arab-style clothing of the girl in the painting.

Again, a larger strip image is shown by (Ctrl- or right-) clicking the image in Mr. Melcher’s MASTERPIECE #3272 (February 19, 2024) blog entry, accessible by the Check out the blog! box after the last comment, and using the dropdown menu. I have added a comment there pointing to very sparse info about this artist I used to point to here. Only work by him used here so far.
I wrote a string of maybe four limericks here last night and was too busy to come back to this site until now, about 19 hours later. They have all disappeared and are not on my Profile Page either. The “Likes” I clicked for other people’s Comments last night are still there. If, for some reason, I have been exiled again, it does not follow the usual pattern. No one here seems to have missed my contributions, but I will attempt to recreate what I can remember below. If someone reading this would respond in some way, I would appreciate it. Thanks.

Namouna is a ballet in two acts and three scenes, with music by Edouard Lalo, choreographed by Lucien Petipa and premiered in Paris in 1882.
(No, as far as I know there is no nudity in performance of the ballet — thus far.)

It looks a little like she has a baby bump, which would mean she already has experience working in an office like theirs.

Our office had cubicles, and HR didn’t allow nudies posted on walls unless you could not see them from outside. He’s breaking the rules.

looking painfully feeble and old.The oppressive hot air
