The only way Sophie can get Wesley’s attention is to open a cheese shop, and learn how to cook all-things-cheese, like fondue, raclette, and aligot. (Dang it! now I want cheesy potatoes …)
I think maybe Wesley is getting a bad rap here. I don’t recall him ever telling Sophie he was into her. I mean, he’s no Einstein here, maybe a bit oblivious to her affections, but not mean. He is only guilty of not realizing Sophie has the hots for him. And it’s his loss, cause Sophie is a real winner.
Cheese always was more important than Sophie to Wesley. Bad choice Wesley. Gutter should show up with really good creative trash for her projects. And maybe a lava lamp.
What does it mean Goldie. Well I hate to tall you, but Wesley Has Found CHEESES! Brother Cheddar and Brother Gouda have led him into the temple of CHEESES. He now only loves and worships CHEESES and lives for the divine spirit Rennet, for without Rennet, there would be no CHEESES. Book of Halloumi 1:3-5
Come now, Sophie. While you’re pondering the meaning of this letter, life, and love itself, you could keep your delicate paws busy with an art project. Goldie could show you where to sneak out of the BPH and you could head to the dumpsters and see if any [ahem] handsome trash pandas might be talked into giving up some treasures for the sake of your [he]art.
This is beginning to feel a bit like a John Hughes movie. Girl who is hot, although the “hunks” don’t seem to notice her, falls for her dreamy guy. All the time not noticing the one guy who is perfect, and right there. Either that, or it’s Trillian from Hitchhiker’s Guide (movie version) finally realizing that Zaphod isn’t the guy for her, but maybe that strange little man in his jammies (Arthur) is?
OT: I have some bad news. My Mom passed away on April 20th of this year. My Dad had passed on January 10, 2015. I will be heading to her funeral on April 27th with my half-brother. We will be meeting up with my brother (my half-brother’s half-brother), his daughter (my niece), his female partner (my sister-in-law), my half-sister (my half-brother’s sister), and her daughter (my niece), on the family farm. I hope to be back home on May 1st.
The song “The Captain of Her Heart” by Double just came up on my playlist. It seems like it might be a good one for Sophie. It is maybe a bit obscure song from the 80’s. It was popular, at least on stations around here, in the summer or 86 when I had a job patrolling county beaches. It was a rough job but someone had to do it. I did it with another girl. We were supposed to look for people doing things they weren’t supposed to like drinking alcohol or with dogs on the beach. I can’t remember exactly what we were supposed to do, I think maybe ask people to leave if they were doing something wrong and if they didn’t I think we maybe needed to contact someone. We weren’t supposed to force people off the beach or anything. Mostly we walked up and down the beach and drove between the 3 county beaches (2 by the end of the summer because it was a high water year and the one beach pretty much flooded out). We listened to the radio when we drove and this song was on a lot.
Sophie, Sophie, Sophie. Sweet summer child . . . we’ve all been there. Wesley may be as adorable as anything, but it’s clear he’s not broadcasting on the same frequency as you. Tuck his memory away and move on.
Look! You have a ferret with sufficient attention span and the mad skills to compose a note without eating the pencil prior to completion!! That is a YouTube gold mine!!! Go viral Wesley!! I don’t know if the cat network that has the cat soap has a show with a host that tackles emotional issues, but if they do Sophie needs to be on it. If they don’t, maybe they need Sophie to host it…?
I feel Wesley is not getting enough credit for writing. Personally, I’d rather have an entertaining correspondent than some wooer cluttering up the place.

Taylor Dayne: Love Will Lead You Back
Saying goodbye to Gouda isn’t easy
But charcuterie doesn’t last forever
So if you must go, darlin’ go for that Brie
But I know in time we won’t be Provolone
Oh, I won’t try to stop you for your Asiago,
Cause in my heart I know!
…….
Love will lead you back,
Feta will bring us back together
Love will lead to Monterey Jack
With Parmesan!
I’m sure, sure as a fine Chèvre
One day we’ll share a fine Mozzarella
It won’t be long
One of these days we’ll share some Mascarpone!

Meanwhile, Back on the Nile
At the Castle Tincan
Cartwright: I love the design the Artisans created. Now I need someone with metalwork expertise.
Iron Glove: If you need metalwork, I’m your chipmunk.
Cartwright: Splendid. Looks like we’ll have the Holy Grill ready in time for the Just Because banquet.
Iggy: Will Sue Chef and the Royal Procurers be back from Sir Alcott Kittleigh’s estate in time to help?
Iron Glove: They said they would be.
Iggy: That’s great. I can’t wait to see what they prepare.
At Sir Alcott’s Estate
Violet-Ifa: Cousin Alvina! So great to see you!
Alvina: It’s been too long. How is the cheese taking in Egypt?
Vi: I’ll never tell! But it’s going great.
Alvina: Have you met my friend Corliss?
Agnes-Aga: I remember you from the Summer Games Cheese Taking Event. How are you?
Corliss: Never better. I remember the one-on-one Gouda Event. You took the gold.
Agnes: That’s right. But I gave it right back!
Corliss: Do you still keep in touch with the Dairy at Punn State?
Agnes: Always. And we do periodic seminars there as well.
Corliss: Maybe you can speak at my alma mater, Redlex University.
Agnes: Sounds like a plan!
